The Gateway Hotel
A run-down building on Parliament Street that most people drive past without a second glance. The old NatWest branch sits at one of Liverpool city centre's most visible corners, and until now has been doing nothing with that position.
We are working with our client to convert the building into The Gateway Hotel, a boutique hospitality destination in the heart of Liverpool. The design retains and enhances the building's distinctive facade, including its double height glazed frontage and curved corner form, while completely transforming the interior into a high quality hotel with a considered guest experience from arrival through to the rooms.
The proposed interior draws on the building's original character, warm timber, brass detailing and a rich material palette that gives the hotel a sense of place rooted in Liverpool rather than generic hospitality design.
The planning application is currently being prepared for submission.
