Our approach
Before a single line is drawn, we take the time to understand how you want to live: your routines, your tastes, the way light moves through your home, and the things that matter most to you.
From that foundation, we design with intention. Every spatial, material and structural decision is made in service of the brief and the site. We do not apply a house style. We create something specific to you, your family and your place.
Our work spans bespoke new homes designed from the ground up, sensitive conversions of barns, coach houses and period buildings, and ambitious extensions that transform the way a home is experienced.

Meet the founder
George Barr MCIAT
Founder & Chartered Architectural Technologist
George worked with a number of practices across the North West before founding Baltik. A specialist in residential design, he brings deep technical knowledge to every project, from early planning strategy through to the construction details that determine how a building performs and ages.
George is involved in every project from the first meeting to completion. For clients, that means senior attention at every stage and real continuity: the thinking behind your brief carries all the way through to the finished building.
Since its founding in 2022, Baltik has been shortlisted for Architectural Practice of the Year at the YM Liverpool Property & Business Awards in both 2025 and 2026, and nominated for Best Architectural Practice and Best Boutique Architectural Practice at the Grafters Awards 2026. George has been shortlisted personally for Young Business Leader (Under 35) in 2026, and also sits on the CIAT North West Committee.
