Project Description

Meadow Covert, Church Broughton

We were appointed by our clients in Church Broughton to design a multifunctional outbuilding that supports both everyday practicality and leisure, set within an expansive garden setting. The brief called for a generous garage to the right-hand side, alongside a dedicated swimming pool room positioned to open directly out to the landscaped external space.

The architectural approach focuses on creating a cohesive building form with a clear hierarchy of uses, ensuring the garage and pool suite are unified within one elegant structure rather than reading as separate additions. The pool room is designed to maximise daylight and garden views, with large openings that allow the space to be naturally ventilated and to spill out onto the terrace during warmer months.

Materiality has been carefully considered in response to the local context, with natural stone cladding selected to reflect the established vernacular and help the building sit comfortably within its rural setting. Detailing is being developed to ensure a robust, timeless appearance that complements the main dwelling and the character of the wider area.

The project is currently at tender stage, with the design and technical information progressed to support contractor pricing and the next steps towards delivery on site.
