Beaconsfield
A substantial replacement dwelling designed from the ground up for a private client in Beaconsfield. The brief was to create a refined family residence that genuinely belongs in its setting, replacing an existing dwelling with something built to last.
The design draws from the proportions and character of traditional English country houses, strong roof forms, a clear hierarchy of volumes and naturally proportioned windows, reinterpreted through a contemporary lens. The result is a home that feels timeless rather than of its moment.
Considerable care has been taken with the relationship between the building and its landscape. Principal living spaces are oriented to make the most of natural light throughout the day and long views across the surrounding countryside. The approach to the house is deliberately understated, sitting comfortably within its context rather than competing with it.
The project is currently at pre-application stage, with initial proposals submitted to the local planning authority ahead of the next phase of design development.
